Sunday 28 November at 8.30pm

Darkness to Light

Advent carol service – the cathedral choir move by candlelight through the cathedral, alternating readings, carols and congregational hymns  

Sunday 19 December at 8.30pm

Festivals of Lessons and Carols

A traditional service of Nine Lessons and Carols led by the Cathedral Choir and Cathedral Choristers; recorded by TVNZ for broadcast on Christmas Day  

Christmas Eve at 4.30pm
Christingle Service

A Christmas service for children, where every child present is invited to be part of the Christmas tableaux. A favourite with children, families and grand-parents.

Christmas Eve at 11.00pm

Midnight Mass
 A glorious celebration of the Christ in the Festal Choral Eucharist. The cathedral choir sing Messe de Minuit (Charpentier) and carols; the NZ Brass add colour to the music; the Bishop preaches. Community carol singing from 10.30pm. Come early to get a seat.

An early morning celebration of the birth of Jesus; said Holy Communion and congregational carols

The Cathedral Choir sing Mass in C by Ireland and Carols; the Dean preaches ; children gather for the blessing of the crib
